Parking
Parking in central Auckland City can be expensive (up to $40/day!), but there are many cheaper options available. Recent changes means that council-run pay parking in the some areas of the downtown core now continues until 10pm.
Auckland City Council (ACC) run both pay and display street parking and parking buildings. Street parking is usually free in the evenings and on Sundays, but it pays to check the signs. The closest ACC parking buildings to Rydges are at 72-100 Fanshawe Street, Victoria Street (corner Victoria and Lorne Sts) and Downtown Carpark (31 Customs Street West). The Fanshawe St carpark is $2/hour, but operates weekdays only, 6am to midnight. Victoria Street and Downtown Carpark operate seven days a week and have maximum of $8 on evenings and weekends.
Wilson Parking has numerous carparking buildings around the city. The closest (and cheapest) carpark to Rydges is on Lower Albert Street which has a flat rate of $8 evenings and weekends.
Note that prices and times are correct at time of posting but may change. Please read the information boards at the carparks to obtain the current rates. RoL committee accepts no responsibility for any errors in posted rates and hours.
