"I was one of those lucky people who found what they always wanted to do."
Geoff started as a cadet in 1970, but knew he had found the right career when in about 1972 he accompanied yachting hero Chris Bouzaid (World quarter-ton Cup Champion) on a day's adventure aboard an Australian submarine, attacking shipping in the Hauraki Gulf. What other 19-year-old could get that sort of opportunity!
Geoff has spent over 40 years capturing some of New Zealand's most significant events including three Rugby World Cups, the Rainbow Warrior bombing, the Erebus disaster, Queen Street Riots and who can forget the image of the "fish'in'chip brigade" awaiting their rise to power.
His recent book "Press Pass" takes a small slice of over 20,000 images printed in New Zealand papers. It is a celebration of a photographers body of work, documenting our history over a long and award winning career along the way.
