Adam Baines is an Auckland based professional videographer and stills photographer currently on assignment to New Zealand’s National Film Unit. 

Adam has been in the film and television industry for over 30 years and recently made the transition to still imagery.  He has a strong background in colour grading and light theory and a wealth of knowledge of the studio, continuous lighting and motion capture.

Adam will share his thoughts on how still photography is incorporated into feature films; how it is utilised especially in the age of the internet, and also how he has transferred his skills as an editor to shooting stills for drama. 

He will lead several field trips, guaranteed to be entertaining and productive!  He is highly respected throughout the Auckland Photographic Society’s member network of leading participants ‘safely’ through some of Auckland’s most darkest destinations to capture truly amazing images.

Adam’s recent work includes movies such as ‘Jake’, ‘Wound’ and he has received several honours for images captured at Alexandra Park’s Trotting series.
